MOISTURIZER
A key part of any skincare routine, moisturizers function to nourish and repair the skin after cleansing, toning, exfoliating and treatments.
In a daytime skincare routine, it is applied before sunscreen. In a night regime, it can be applied before, or replaced with a sleeping pack or mask, which functions as a rich, intensive moisturizer to wear to sleep.

It’s a common misconception that oily skin doesn’t need moisturizer. However this is far from the truth. All skin types need moisturizer to maintain the lipid barrier of the skin, and to prevent transepidermal water loss (TEWL), which occurs when moisture evaporates from the skin. In fact, oily and acne prone skin can greatly benefit from oil-free formulas that impart hydration to restore the skin’s oil-water balance.
The best moisturizers have multiple ingredients that hold moisture in the skin while restoring your skin’s barrier. In ingredient lists, look for humectants like hyaluronic acid and panthenol to draw water to the skin; occlusives like jojoba oil and shea butter to soften and create a layer to seal in moisture; and barrier-restoring ingredients such as cholesterol or squalane, fatty acids, and ceramides.
